43 new confirmed coronavirus cases in last 24 hrs, says EODY

Greece registered 43 new confirmed coronavirus cases and no Covid-19 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said on Monday, bringing total cases since the outbreak began to 3,562.
Specifically, from Monday’s infections total, 36 cases were detected at the Promahonas border crossing station in northern Greece; of these, 20 came from Serbia alone and 16 from other countries. Of the rest, four cases were identified in the epidemiologically burdened area of Xanthi.
Of the confirmed cases total, 852 were infected abroad while 1,936 were infected by an already known case.
Eleven Greeks are intubated at hospitals. Their median age is 59 years and 5 are women. A 90.9 pct has an underlying condition or is aged 70 and above.
A total of 120 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began in Greece.
Coronavirus fatalities stand at 192. Of those who passed away, 61 were women. The median age for all is 76 years and most (95.8 pct) had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 and above.
Since January 1, a total of 340,328 clinical tests have been carried out in Greece and 5,716 of them were found to be positive (1.7 pct of total, with retestings). The total includes 34,225 random tests carried out at the country’s airports since June 12, of which 62 (or 0.2 pct) tested positive to Covid-19.
