GLOBUL is one of the owners of the first officially registered electromobiles in Bulgaria. Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova presented the keys to the brand new Peugeot iOn to GLOBUL Corporate Affairs Director Mr. Yasen Guev at a ceremony held at the showroom of Sofia France Auto, official importer of Peugeot for the country.

The electromobile will be used by GLOBUL Human Resources & Administration Division at the company’s head office in Sofia. The other owners of the first fully electric-powered cars in Bulgaria are Societe Generale Expressbank and the Argent advertising agency.

„We are proud to be among the first users of electromobiles in Bulgaria. This is yet another step further in the implementation of our GLOBUL Green strategy, which aims to reduce our company’s environment footprint and to save energy and resources. We hope more Bulgarian companies to follow are example soon.” – commented Mr. Guev and reminded that GLOBUL was the first Bulgarian operator that measures the environmental footprint of its operation aspects and implements a set of initiatives to minimize it within the long-term environmental sustainability strategy GLOBUL Green.

Four-time rally champion of Bulgaria Krum Donchev, who was guest of honor of the ceremony, was the first to test GLOBUL’s new Peugeot iOn.

Peugeot iOn is a 100% electric-powered automobile which combines manoeuvrability, reliability and comfort with high degree of noise reduction and effectively no emissions without denying the driver and the passengers all the amenities of ordinary cars.

The iOn offers 150-km single-charge run. The lithium-ion battery recharges in full for 6 hours from a regular power grid socket and allows for fast recharge (up to 50% in 15 minutes and up to 80% in 30 minutes) with a special charging device.
