GLOBUL was awarded the Biggest Corporate Donor for 2012 in two categories of the seventh annual Bulgarian Donor’s Forum Awards – Largest Amount of Financial Grants and The Most Generous Donor. The prestigious prize was presented by the Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.

Within the past year, GLOBUL has invested over BGN 1 million in programs and initiatives in several key areas – promoting education, environmental protection and social development. Among them is the operator’s scholarship program which aims to provide financial support to talented students, and the National Nature Parks Day environmental initiative. It is held together with the international environmental organization WWF and is aimed at preserving and protecting Bulgaria’s wild nature.

On the occasion of the company’s tenth anniversary which was celebrated in 2011 and as a part of its corporate responsibility strategy, GLOBUL donated ten ambulances to the Emergency Medical Service Centres in Sofia, Plovdiv, Blagoevgrad, Yambol, Dobrich and Smolyan. All ten ambulances were produced by Opel and were equipped according to the European standards for providing emergency medical services. The total value of the donation is estimated at over BGN 850, 000 which makes it the largest single donation made by a company in the country since 1989.

‘As a company which is a long-term investor in Bulgaria, it’s really important for us to contribute to the economic development and support projects that are good for the society. We decided to make this   donation because we believe it would allow many Bulgarians to receive qualified and timely emergency care, and will also promote and improve the health care system in the country.’ – GLOBUL Chief Executive Officer Mr. Haris Kotsibos commented at the official award ceremony.
