At an official ceremony today GLOBUL handed to Sofia’s Emergency Medical Service Centre the keys to four of the ten ambulances that the company will donate for its 10th anniversary.
Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boiko Borissov, GLOBUL Chief Executive Officer Haris Kotsibos and Sofia’s Emergency Medical Service Centre Director Dr. Georgi Gelev assisted the event, held in front of the Council of Ministers.
All ten ambulances donated by GLOBUL were produced by Opel and were equipped according to the European standards for providing emergency medical services. They were also registered and insured. According to the preliminary calculations, the total value of the donation is estimated at about BGN 800,000 making it the largest single donation by a company since 1989.
We are proud that after ten years on the Bulgarian market we are one of the big investors in the country’s economy and society. Remaining true to ourselves, we decided not to organize big celebration parties for our 10th anniversary but to make a donation in order to provide more Bulgarians with the chance to get quality and timely urgent medical care, Mr. Kotsibos said in his speech at the official ceremony.
GLOBUL will provide the rest six ambulances to other cities in the country in the next two years. The first one will be donated in Blagoevgrad at the beginning of 2012.
