GLOBUL continued expanding its postpaid customer base during the third quarter of 2010, despite ongoing challenges as the financial crisis continued to impact consumer spending while intensified competition has led to the erosion of retail prices in the corporate segment.

Specifically, GLOBUL’s postpaid customer base increased by nearly 8% from Q3 2009, reaching a total of 2.2 million, or 57% of total customer base. GLOBUL has continued migrating prepaid customers to postpaid through innovative offers, and this, together with the prepaid registration process, has led to a decrease in the prepaid customer base. As a result, GLOBUL’s total customer base at the end of Q3 2010 reached approximately 3.9 million.

GLOBUL’s fixed line services exhibited strong growth in Q3 2010, with the subscriber base exceeding 100,000 customers.

Service revenues declined by only 4.9% in Q3 2010, mainly due to macroeconomic factors, intense competition in the business postpaid segment and lower interconnection rates.
