GLOBUL NEW YEAR TRAFFIC SETS NEW RECORD

GLOBUL voice traffic marked a new all-time high during the New Year holidays of December 31 and January 1, growing 15% compared to the same period of 2011, preliminary data of the operator showed.

Data traffic for the period marked a 61.3% increase, in line with the long-term trend of data services usage increase.

GLOBUL subscribers sent more than 5.34 million SMS from 10pm on December 31 to 10am on January 2, up by some 24% year-on-year, with some 2 million of them sent in the first three hours of 2012. On January 1 alone GLOBUL SMS traffic exceeded nearly four times the normal daily traffic. The number of multimedia messages (MMS) sent by GLOBUL users also marked a 26% increase.

GLOBUL network had stable operation and good performance during the holidays, successfully managing the increased usage.
