For a third consecutive year, the Team of Hope will participate in the Homeless World Cup with GLOBUL’s support. This year it will be held in Chile from 19 to 26 October. The names of the eight national players were announced at a press conference late last week.
At the event, GLOBUL Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mr. Yassen Guev wished good luck to the national team and awarded Nikolay Angelov who is one of the winners in the Me & My Story essay contest. The contest was organized by Sports Management Bulgaria and this year’s Team of Hope ambassador Georgi Gospodinov, and was aimed at developing the writing talent of children, deprived of parental care. The two winners received Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus smartphone from GLOBUL.
As part of its support for the project, GLOBUL also participated in the fourth Play with the Nationals tournament of the Team of Hope. It was held in Sofia yesterday, as part of the team’s preparation for the Homeless World Cup.
GLOBUL supports the project aimed at social integration of underprivileged young people through sports for a third consecutive year as part of its corporate responsibility strategy. The national team debuted in the Homeless World Cup in Mexico in 2012 and ranked on the prestigious 14th position among a total of 43 teams. A year later, the Team of Hope ranked 17th among 46 teams and won the Poznan City Cup.
