For a third consecutive year GLOBUL supports and will participate in one of the most significant events for Bulgaria’s sustainable business, the Green Innovation Forum organized by Dnevnik daily and denkstatt Bulgaria. This year the forum will be held on November 29 in Sofia under the headline Food, Water and Raw Materials – Innovations for a Sustainable Future.

The forum’s agenda focuses on production of food with high quality and minimum environmental footprint, sustainable use of water and supplies, as well as on waste recycling technologies. During the forum’s three panels, the participants will have an opportunity to discuss and share their experience in the green innovations field.

GLOBUL Corporate Affairs Director, Mr. Yassen Guev will take part in the green forum as part of the operator’s support for the event. He will present GLOBUL 2010 Corporate Responsibility Report which is the first one in the country which is prepared according to the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Mr. Guev will share details about the report and all the company’s initiatives and activities included in it.

The partnership between GLOBUL and the organizers of the Green Innovation Forum is a further step within the company’s long-term environmental responsibility strategy GLOBUL Green. The strategy includes a wide range of initiatives aimed at reducing the company’s environmental footprint and raising the society’s awareness of significant ecological issues. As a result of GLOBUL efforts, in 2010 the company reduced its carbon emissions by 11.3 % on annual basis, thus saving the environment a total of 3,140 tons of greenhouse gases (GHG).
