For a second consecutive year GLOBUL and Manager Magazine organized a forum about green ideas and their practical implementation in Bulgarian economy. The event was held under the motto The Green Future of Bulgaria – Energy, Water, Transport, Waste.

The forum’s special guest this year was the world famous Portuguese writer and journalist José Rodrigues dos Santos, author of the novels The Island of Darkness, Codex 632, The Einstein Enigma and The Seventh Seal. He opened the event with a speech under the headline The End of the Petroleum Era and participated in the discussions.

Various business and media representatives, government officials, foreign diplomats and experts attended the forum. Among them were the British Ambassador to Bulgaria Catherine Barber, the Bulgarian Minister of Environment & Water, Nona Karadzhova, the banker Tsvetelina Borislavova, the Bulgarian Electric Vehicle Association Chairman Martin Zaimov as well as representatives of the 130 companies-members of the Green circle created by GLOBUL and Manager Magazine last year.

At the event opening, guests were welcomed by the Manager Magazine Editor-in-Chief Maxim Mayer and GLOBUL Corporate Affairs Director Yassen Guev.

We at GLOBUL welcome the green initiatives; we proactively seek to find eco-friendly solutions for our business and to implement them within our long-term environmental sustainability strategy GLOBUL Green. Thanks to it, in 2010 GLOBUL reduced its carbon emissions by 7% on annual basis, thus saving the environment some 1,862 tons of greenhouse gases, Mr. Guev said in his welcome speech.
