GLOBUL will support and join the first Christmas eco festival in Sofia. The Green Christmas Town will be open from December 15, 2011 to January 10, 2012 in the park area next to the Ivan Vazov National Theatre. The festival, which will feature traditional Christmas market, will also offer an entertaining programme with various cultural events, charity, eco initiatives and games for children.
The Green Christmas Town was officially opened yesterday evening by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Mrs. Ivelina Vasileva, the Bulgarian ethno singer Ms. Elitsa Todorova and the TV star and winner of the title ‘Woman of the Year’ Mrs. Mira Dobreva. GLOBUL Corporate Affairs Director Mr. Yassen Guev also attended the ceremony.
At the event, the official representatives lighted the eco Christmas tree in the Green Town. The decoration is powered by the spinning of three bicycles connected to the Christmas tree. The innovative technology, developed by students from the Technical University of Sofia, helps saving electric energy and protecting the environment and natural resources.
All those who attend the festival may visit GLOBUL Christmas House and buy company products or charity articles. The company will donate the collected funds to the ‘Kids with developmental problems’ Foundation. Besides, everyone may support the cause of the international environmental organization WWF for protecting rare animal species in Bulgaria by donating funds at the GLOBUL kiosk.
At the festival, GLOBUL will organize a few events with Christmas presents, and a lottery as well. All customers who have bought a product or a charity item at a price over BGN 13 during the festival will have the right to participate in the lottery. The grand prizes are three smartphones iPhone 4S.
GLOBUL has prepared surprises even for the youngest visitors of the Green Christmas Town. Children will be amused by Green Santa who will give away presents at a certain hours of the day. Moreover, kids will be able to play in the town’s Children Center under the supervision of highly qualified and experienced professionals.
