GLOBUL supported the opening of the exhibition ‘One Decade (1972-1982)’, organised by the Union of Bulgarian Artists and the Foundation ‘Supporting Art in Bulgaria’. The art exposition is part of the ‘120 years of artistic life in Bulgaria’ project, which aims to trace the history and the development of the Bulgarian art from the end of XIX to the beginning of XXI century.
The ‘One Decade’ exhibition will be shown in the Exhibition Center Shipka 6 in Sofia until December 20, 2013. It includes 552 original works and reproductions, as well as short texts which present the three editions of 1972, 1977 and 1982 of the art exhibition ‘Earth and Man’. The works embrace the genres of painting, graphics, drawing and sculpture. Among the artists included in the selection are some of the greatest masters of contemporary Bulgarian art such as Naum Hadzimladenov, Boris Ivanov, Dechko Uzunov, Svetlin Rusev, Atanas Yaranov, Ivan Kirkov, Magda Abazova, Todor Panayotov, Stoimen Stoilov, Velichko Minekov, Ivan Pramatarov and others.
At the exhibition a documentary about the preparation and implementation of the project will be shown, and there will be also a presentation of the book ‘120 Years of Bulgarian Art (1892-2012), published last year with the support of GLOBUL.
The event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Art Gallery in Dobrich, as the majority of the works presented in the exhibition belong to the gallery, while others are owned by the Sofia City Art Gallery.
The project ‘120 years of artistic life in Bulgaria’ is supported by GLOBUL and held in a partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Dobrich, Dobrich Art Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery and Sofia Press Agency
