GLOBUL WITH RECORD GROWTH OF NEW YEAR EVE TRAFFIC

GLOBUL voice traffic in the peak hour of 00:00am to 01:00am on January 1, 2011 marked record high growth of over 21%, compared to the same period of 2010, preliminary data of the operator showed. Voice traffic in the 11:00pm – 03:00am period of the New Year’s Eve marked a 6.4% increase.

Total voice traffic in GLOBUL network on December 31, 2010 and January 1, 2011 increased by nearly 17% over the same period last year. Data traffic marked a 172% growth, the increase being in line with the long-term trend of data services usage increase.

GLOBUL subscribers sent more than 4.3 million SMS on December 31 and January 1, up by 17.8% year-on-year. On January 1 alone GLOBUL users sent nearly 4 million SMS, up by 19.7% year-on-year and more than four times the average daily number of SMSs.

GLOBUL network had stable operation and good performance during the holidays, successfully managing the increased usage.
