Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke by phone with United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson on Tuesday, and discussed among others bilateral issues, Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic.
Mitsotakis briefed the British prime minister on “the problems Turkey’s behavior creates in the Eastern Mediterranean, and reiterated Greece’s willingness to resolve the maritime zone delineation issue through diplomatic channels,” government sources said.
They also mentioned the Cyprus issue following recent elections in the Turkish Cypriot community, and the prospects of a resolution that would benefit both sides.
Bilateral relations should also be strenghtened, they noted, while also mentioned was Britain’s participation in celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence outbreak in 1821.
