H.S.H. Prince Albert II brings a superstar team to Bansko

 H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco is coming to Bansko for the 6th Ski event of his “Star Team for the Children” Charity Association. The Prince will arrive in the premier Bulgarian winter resort on January 27, leading a cast of worldknown legends in various sport disciplines. The idea of the Charity Association is through spectacular events with notorious athletes to attract children to sport, stimulate young talents and raise funds for charity causes.

The Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko will be in the very heart of the remarkable event – not only as a main hotel for most of the VIP guests but also as a host of the charitable Gala dinner, which will take place at the exquisite Gallery restaurant on January 28. Inspired by the positive idea Kempinski Hotels extended its support to the initiative and will contribute a range of attractive vacations across its unique properties around the world. Vouchers for these vacations could be bought in the charity raffle and include stay at remarkable Kempinski Hotels all over the world.

Bulgarian Ski Federation and the Municipality of Bansko are honoured to organise and host this exclusive event, which – apart from the traditional ski race

– will include a biathlon competition for the first time. With skis and rifles on the white runs in 2012 will appear: S.A.R. Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoia, famous Formula 1 pilots Giancarlo Fisichella, Vitaly Petrov and Riccardo

Patrese, five-time winner of Ski World Cup Marc Girardelli, pole vault legend Sergey Bubka and many more.

Bulgaria will be represented by the most successful Bulgarian skier of all times Petar Popangelov; the Golden ball winner, football star Hristo Stoichkov; Olympic champion in high jump and Chair of Bulgarian Olympic Committee Stefka Kostadinova; biathlon Olympic champion Ekaterina Dafovska and biathlon bronze Olympic medalist Irina Nikulchina.
