The first of its kind Youth Road Map for Development, created by the winners in the High Start with Postbank program was officially presented at the awarding ceremony for the program’s newest scholars. Mr. Anthony Hassiotis, CEO of Postbank, and the distinguished students handed over the symbolic Youth Road Map to Mr. Lazar Dodev, Director of Organization and Coordination Directorate at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science.
For the students Bulgaria’s “high start”, summed up in 20 steps, starts with a reorganization of the country’s governance priorities, ensuring quality education and professional opportunities for the young people, as well as forming an active and strong civil society. Among the ideas of the participants in this year’s edition there are also proposals for environment protection, development of agriculture and tourism.
The authors of the winning essays on the topic „My High Start for Bulgaria Starts With…” were awarded 50 single 1000 leva scholarships within the framework of the program, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science for the seventh consecutive year.
The winners are high school students from 25 cities in the country. Most of them are from Sofia with 10 essays, followed by Varna and Ruse with 5 awarded essays each. Pleven, Burgas, Sandanski, Svoge and other towns also have winners.
„My biggest “thank you” goes to all the students who participated in this year’s edition of High Start. Their enthusiasm and fresh ideas make me certain that Bulgaria has a bright future ahead and will be managed by people not only with high hopes and dreams but also with a plan how to implement them in practice”, said Anthony Hassiotis, CEO of Postbank.
The seventh edition of the program was held in partnership with the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum, Paideia Foundation, the National Network for Children, the Parents Association, and with the media support of Vesti.bg and Manager Magazine.
