The winners were announced during the official gala ceremony, which took place on Sunday, 18 February at InterContinental Kyiv hotel and gathered together around 250 guests, including leading European hoteliers, hotel general managers, global hospitality industry experts, diplomats and journalists. Launched in 2011, the International Hospitality Awards has the aim of awarding the best hotels according to the performance results of each year. The mission of the award is the development of a professional and competitive hospitality industry through promoting achievements in the hotel business. This year the ceremony honoured the best hotels out of 315 nominees from 21 countries from Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Slovakia, Moldova, Ukraine, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Macedonia, Slovenia, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. The winners in 28 nominations were selected in several stages, beginning with a voting panel consisting of an expert board of international jury, and followed by the ratings of the hotels from the online booking system booking.com and the feedback platform Trust You.
