The hotel welcomed children from a local centre for children with multiple disabilities, Zdravec, and celebrated Earth Day.

Bansko, 22 April 2013: The Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko offered support to two social causes this April. At 10 am on 15 April, the hotel’s management team welcomed children from a local centre for children with multiple disabilities, Zdravec, and offered them a few hours of fun and recreation. Everyone had the opportunity to swim in the indoor pool and enjoy the bubbling water in the Jacuzzi. The spa centre staff made sure everyone was safe and assured a joyful time was had by all. The hotel chefs surprised the children with a delicious lunch with sandwiches and sweets. The management team undertook the initiative with the aim of creating a new tradition, much like the giving away of presents at Christmas.

A week later, on 22 April, which is celebrated internationally as Earth Day, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko joined in the initiative of Bansko Municipality: “April – a month of cleaning and recycling”. In line with the hotel’s green policy, the management team participated in a tree planting campaign by planting lime trees, also known as tilia trees, in the garden at the entrance of the town. By demonstrating their personal commitment, the managers once again proved their dedication to creating a cleaner and healthier environment, and showed that it is possible to do so through joint efforts and personal contributions from everyone.

The General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko, Mr. Athanassios Manos, commented: “The support of the local nursing homes and communities is one of our priorities, and we will continue working in this direction in the future with various new initiatives. We should also not forget that as we care and support each other, we should similarly take care of our mutual home – Earth. It is essential for all of us to stay connected to nature and to ensure that we take good care of it. In this way, we can save the planet for the next generations.”
