On March, 23th, the hotel partially switched off the lights for one hour from 20:30 to 21:30 in defense of the planet. Some guests delighted a romantic candlelight dinner by the fireplace in the Mediterranean restaurant “Come Prima”, while others enjoyed the evening with their families and friends at the Lobby Bar lighted with numerous small candles under the sounds of the live music of duo “Elan Duo”.
The initiative of the hotel was very well accepted by its guests and some of them personally congratulated the General Manager of the hotel, Mr. Athanassios Manos, on the organization of this humane cause and thanked him for the chance to become part of it.
On the next day the hotel joined another global cause- The World Tuberculosis Day. The management team of the hotel organised some significant activities. They started with a Spring cleaning around the hotel under the Motto” Clean the World of Tuberculosis” and managed to clean the surrounding area of the hotel. At noon time, wearing kitchen uniforms, all of them served food in the hotel staff canteen handing out flyers with facts and figures about tuberculosis. In addition, the football team of the hotel participated in a charity football tournament, organized jointly with other companies to raise donations for tuberculosis.
The General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko added: The last weekend was very dynamic not only for me but for both the management team and the staff of the hotel. Setting the personal example as a Manager is very important exercise and this was the idea behind the initiatives which we undertook – by personal example to build up a viable proactive position to protect the planet for the future generations, to ensure a life without risk of disease from tuberculosis and to popularize healthy lifestyle not only for ourselves but also for our children.
