Healthcare workers at University Hospital Sofiamed were supported with 125,000 Bulgarian leva through the initiative

Postbank and VISA implemented a joint socially responsible campaign in support of Bulgarian healthcare workers and their efforts in the fight against COVID-19. 125,000 Bulgarian leva was provided to University Hospital Sofiamed through The Power Is in Our Hands initiative, with which breathing apparatus of the highest class for active reanimation, oxygen concentrators and apparatus for high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy with permanent positive pressure will be purchased.
Every card-owner and customer of the bank had the opportunity to automatically join the initiative by using their VISA debit or credit card from Postbank, issued prior to 16 April 2021, and carry out at least one purchase with the card at a value of at least 30 Bulgarian leva in a commercial site or online store during the campaign period. For every eligible payment, Postbank contributed 1 Bulgarian lev in support of medical staff, who for more than a year have been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.
“We started this unique campaign to support medics who – with their professionalism and selflessness – continue fighting the virus from the forefront. As one of the banks with the most active corporate social responsibility policies, our customers showed solidarity with our cause though this initiative as we contribute while they do their everyday shopping. As a token of gratitude for the participation and solidarity, the bank’s customers and VISA cardholders receive a special digital certificate, acknowledging their contribution to the initiative.

The campaign in support of Bulgarian healthcare workers and hospitals in the country is yet another socially responsible gesture of Postbank in fighting COVID-19. Over the past year, the financial institution supported the largest maternal and childcare hospital – Maychin Dom in Sofia, University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment and Emergency Medicine N. I. Pirogov, University Hospital Sofiamed and several other hospitals in Sofia and Sliven. In 2021, Postbank celebrated 30 years on the Bulgarian market and in this period it has always been a full-fledged participant in the processes in the Bulgarian society with active serious socially responsible and contributory activity.
