Postbank celebrated its 20th anniversary on the Bulgarian market with an official reception at the National Museum of History. The event was attended by nearly 500 guests – representatives of the state authorities, regulators, partners, clients and employees of the bank. During the ceremony Mr. Ognian Donev, Chariman of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (CEIBG) bestowed Mr. Anthony Hassiotis, CEO of Postbank with the honorary sign of merit for exceptional performance and special contribution to the development of the Bulgarian economy.
Established in 1991 as Bulgarian Post Bank, today Postbank is among the biggest banks in Bulgaria with a market share of around 10% and part of the international banking group Eurobank EFG. The total investment made by the Group in the country exceeds one billion BGN. The financial institution is a market leader in deposits, residential mortgages, consumer lending and credit cards. The bank is recognized as one of the top corporate banks in Bulgaria and a preferred partner of both large corporate and institutional clients, and plays an important role in the local money market, the government bond market and in investment banking.
In its 20 years of operations Postbank has worked actively in the field of corporate social responsibility. The bank has launched and supported a number of projects in the field of education, arts, sports, environmental care and corporate donorship. For 7 years in a row the bank has invested in high school education in Bulgaria through the High Start program carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science and in partnership with various local NGOs. This year the bank published its third CSR and Sustainability Report which is also the first such Bulgarian report prepared in accordance with the international G3 standard of the Global Reporting Initiative and certified by an independent auditor.
