The Bulgarian Credit Rating Agency has assigned a long-term rating of ВВВ to Postbank with a stable outlook and a short-term rating of А-2. This is the first rating assigned to the bank by the rating agency. The BCRA has been operating on the Bulgarian market since 2002 and is currently the third qualified rating agency in the EU whose ratings are recognized by all EU member states.
The assigned rating is based on an analysis of Postbank’s operations and financial data over the last five years. The BCRA assigns the bank an investement rating after a comprehensive review of the bank’s performance, its well diversified loan and deposit portfolio, the good liquidity position and its stable place as one of the largest banks in the country.
„This assessment is very important to us as it evidences our strong financial position while allowing Postbank to successfully continue raising funds, both locally and abroad, also in an effort to support the recovery of the country’s economy. We are pleased that this rating has been assigned to us by experts with a profound knowledge of the Bulgarian market, after an in depth analysis of our business, our financial standing and our potential on the Bulgarian market,” said Anthony Hassiotis, Postbank CEO.
