Postbank’s Virtual MasterCard Wins “Financial Product of the Year” Award

Postbank’s virtual MasterCard of won the grand prize for “Financial product of the year” at the Ninth International Financial Forum “Banks Investment Money”. The product scored the highest points in the categories “Financial Product of the Year” and “Innovation and Quality”. Selection criteria included the real benefits for the customers, uniqueness, innovation and the distribution of adequate and understandable product information. Postbank CEO Anthony Hassiotis accepted the award at an official ceremony.

The “Banks Investment Money” Forum was dedicated to “The Financial sector in Bulgaria – guarantor of stability and economic recovery”. Attending were Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Ministers Traicho Traikov, Simeon Dyankov, Tomislav Donchev. Among the speakers in the two panels were Asen Yagodin – Executive Director of Postbank, Judith Lang – Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary, holding the rotating EU presidency, Markus Repnik – Country Manager of the World Bank for Bulgaria, Toni Libeck, representative of the International Monetary Fund for Bulgaria and Romania, and Daniel Berg, Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Bulgaria.

The virtual MasterCard was launched by Postbank in June last year. The card product allows clients to make payments to Internet sites all over the world with maximum transaction security. The card can be used for all online transactions, including hotel and flight reservations. The card does not require income verification or credit checks, as it is not a credit product, but can be charged right before a payment needs to be made.  Transactions with the card are free of charge.
