AEGEAN continues to hold first place for the quality of its services in the preferences of passengers worldwide

AEGEAN has been named “Europe’s Best Regional Airline” at the 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards, the Passengers Choice Awards.  It is noted that the company won the Skytrax World Airline Award for Best Regional Airline in Europe for the 9th consecutive year, and for the 10th time in the last 11 years. This year’s award ceremony was held on June 18th, 2019, during the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, Paris.
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax said: "This is a major recognition for Aegean Airlines front-line staff who are responsible for achieving such high customer satisfaction. Achieving this consistency to be voted as the Best European Regional Airline for a ninth consecutive year is not an easy task and it is a great triumph for Aegean Airlines to have achieved this major recognition from customers.”

The World Airline Awards are managed by international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax Research of London, UK.
21,65 million eligible survey entries were counted in the final results, and more of 100 nationalities participated in the survey from September 2018 to May 2019. The customer survey was operated in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese. The survey covers over 300 airlines, measuring Quality standards for 49 KPI’s across front-line product and service factors in the Airport and Onboard environments. A key directive is for travellers to make their own, personal choice as to which airline they consider best, underlining the brand as the Passenger's Choice Awards.
About the World Airline Awards:
Celebrating their 19th anniversary, the World Airline Awards are independent and impartial,
introduced in 1999 to provide a customer satisfaction study that was truly global. Travellers across the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners. The awards are referred to by media around the world as “the Oscars of the aviation industry”.
Skytrax pay all costs of the Survey and Awards event, and airlines do not pay any entry or
registration fee. The awards event and award presentations are supplied by Skytrax at no charge.
There are no fees or costs for airline use of the award logos and results. Over 100 customer
nationalities participated in the survey with 21.65 million eligible entries counted in the results.
Survey entries were screened to identify IP and user information, with duplicate, suspect or
ineligible entries deleted. More than 300 airlines are featured.
The online survey operated from September 2018 to May 2019, together with invitations sent to previous year respondents in the Skytrax survey database. The customer survey was operated in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese. On a year-to-year basis, the most substantial increases were noted in customer voting across the Chinese and Spanish language surveys.
