Bulgarian leasing companies’ claims under financial and operational leases increased by an annual 0.8% to 4.31 billion levs ($2.6 billion/2.2 billion euro) at the end of September, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said on Monday.
Compared to the end of June, claims were also 0.8% higher at the end of September, BNB said in a statement.
Financial lease claims totalled 4.09 billion levs at the end of September, up by an annual 0.8% and 0.6% higher compared to the end of June.
Operational lease claims rose by an annual 1.8% to 217.4 million levs at the end of September, and were 3.9% higher compared to the end of the second quarter.
The assets of the companies operating in Bulgaria’s leasing sector totalled 5.31 billion levs at the end of September, up from 5.16 billion levs a year earlier.
There were a total of 44 active leasing companies at the end of September, six less compared to a year earlier.
