The Transport Ministry’s bill on the restructuring of Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority was approved by parliament’s plenary on Thursday, based on New Democracy party votes.

All other parties expect the government party rejected the bill, which splits the existing Civil Aviation Authority to a sibling body, the Civil Aviation Agency.

The Authority will thus take on the management of issues pertaining to managing airports and providing services to them, whereas the Agency will assume the supervisory role of the administrative and financial aspects of the country’s air transportation services.
