The European Commission on Tuesday denied Greek press reports claiming that the Vice President of the European Commission, Věra Jourová, compared the way state subsidies are given to Greek media with the way this is done in Hungary and Poland.
“We have seen some misleading reports about a meeting with MEPs, but I would like to be clear and clarify that Vice President Jourová did not comment on the situation regarding this issue in Greece during this debate,” European Commission spokesperson Christian Wigand said.
