The number of foreign tourists who visited Bulgaria in October fell 45.3% year-on-year to 419,100, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
Citizens of EU member states accounted for 44.7% of all international arrivals to Bulgaria in the tenth month of 2020, or 53.1% less than a year earlier, NSI said in a monthly report.
Travellers who visited friends or relatives or just transited the country represented 64.4% of all foreign nationals who entered Bulgaria in October.
Vacation trips and business trips accounted for 21.1% and 14.5% of all foreign tourist visits to Bulgaria, respectively, the NSI said.
