GLOBUL has already selected the winners in its youth contest who will represent Bulgaria at the Telenor Youth Summit 2013.
The contest was held from October 10 to October 28 and all participants had to present their idea on how mobile technologies can contribute to the solution of a social issue. After two assessment stages, the jury unanimously selected Valeriya Yordanova and Stefani Toneva as the winners. The aspiring social projects they presented are aimed at improving access to medical care of residents in rural areas and at developing specialized mobile application for Autistic Children.
Both winners will participate in the first ever international Telenor Youth Summit 2013 to be held from December 9 to 11 in Oslo, Norway, with their travel, food and accommodation expenses covered by GLOBUL. During the event, they will meet and exchange ideas with another 24 young social entrepreneurs from around the world. Their joint solutions will be will be presented and displayed at the Nobel Peace Center and at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in early 2014.
Participants in the summit will also attend an exclusive gathering with live transmission of the Award Ceremony at the Nobel Peace Center and the CNN interview with of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. The event’s program includes a lot of entertainment and social activities, and young people will be also invited to the Nobel Peace Prize Concert along with many celebrities.
Telenor Youth Summit is held for the first time as a global initiative for exchanging opinions on the way mobile communications technologies can encourage growth and positive change the society. It is organized in collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center, one of Telenor’s strategic sponsorships.
