Rouvikonas graffiti and statement on education prompts ministry’s response

Two helmet-wearing members of Rouvikonas (Rubicon) anarchist group left graffiti in support of student occupations of schools on the walls of the Ministry of Education in Marousi, overnight on Saturday.

They then uploaded a video with the action online and a statement in which the group attacks Minister Niki Kerameos, calling the situation in education “tragic” and its future “ill-omened”. “No education for the few and privileged,” and “Fight against class obstacles,” it said.

In a reaction, the ministry said on Sunday “it’s about another bullying and condemnable act of so-called political activism that harms democratic dialogue and public property.” The government will continue to work towards upgrading and modernizing education for the benefit of the entire educational community, it noted.
