Dear Members and Friends,

The Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria is pleased to share with you a special story from an upcoming book dedicated to the people, traditions and authentic spirit of Greece.

Bulgarian journalist and author Boyka Atanasova, who has lived and worked in Greece for more than twenty years, is currently preparing her new book, A Guide to the Soul of Greece – a journey beyond the familiar destinations and into the everyday life, stories and traditions that give Greece its unique character.

As part of a new cultural series, we are delighted to share with you one of the book’s chapters, translated into English:

“A Coffee That Is Never Just Coffee”

It is a warm and deeply human story about the Greek kafeneio, the rituals surrounding a simple cup of coffee and, perhaps most importantly, about something increasingly precious in our fast-moving lives – the time we choose to give to one another.

One line from the chapter captures its spirit beautifully:

“In Greece, time loses its meaning when there is someone to share the day with.”

We invite you to take a few moments, slow down and enjoy the story. The chapter is available in two language versions for your convenience:

Bringing a project of this scale to publication requires financial support and committed partners. Companies and organisations that feel connected to its cultural mission and would like to explore opportunities to support the publication are warmly invited to contact the HBCB Secretariat by email office@hbcbg.com or by phone: +359879616668.

We would be pleased to provide further information about the project and facilitate direct communication with the author.

Through initiatives such as this, HBCB is pleased to highlight not only the economic ties between Bulgaria and Greece, but also the people, culture and shared experiences that continue to bring our two countries closer.
