Bulgarian do-it-yourself (DIY) retailer Praktiker said that it opened its first hypermarket in the town of Pazardzhik, in the southern pert of the country, on Wednesday.

The hypermarket spreads on a total area of 8,400 sq m, with an adjacent parking lot with 128 parking places, and will create over 70 new jobs, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The construction of the new store was carried out by local company Miks Construction, the retailer added.

The hypermerket is located next to an existing Technopolis store. Both Praktiker and Technopolis are part of local group Videolux Holding.

Praktiker has 13 stores in 12 Bulgarian cities. A new store is expected to open in Dobrich, in the northeast of the country, in the autumn.
