The Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria (HBCB) is pleased to announce that Mr. Vasilis Satslis, Vice Chairman of HBCB and Managing Director of ALUMIL Bulgaria, will participate as a speaker at SIM Expo 2026, taking place on Thursday, 5 November, at the Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel.

The international conference, held under the motto “Sofia – Regional Financial Hub,” will bring together representatives of public institutions, banks, investment funds, international financial organisations and the business community to discuss investment opportunities, access to financing and business growth.

Greek Investment in Bulgaria: Experience, Challenges and New Opportunities

Mr. Satslis will participate in the panel discussion “Foreign Direct Investment – Business Benefits and Economic Stimulus,” scheduled for 15:45–16:30 and moderated by Mr. Doncho Barbalov, Advisor of the Investment Council at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

The panel will bring together representatives of InvestBulgaria Agency, Sofia Investment Agency, AHK Bulgaria, Confindustria Bulgaria and HBCB, offering different perspectives on foreign investment and economic development.

During the discussion, Mr. Satslis will share his experience as the head of a Greek manufacturing company with a long-standing presence in Bulgaria and as a representative of the Greek business community.

The discussion will explore what has attracted Greek companies to Bulgaria over the years, how the country compares with other markets in Southeast Europe and which sectors could offer new opportunities for Greek investment.

Special attention will also be given to the challenges facing manufacturers and investors, including energy costs, access to skilled workers, infrastructure, regulatory stability and the conditions needed to attract more medium-sized companies.

Greek businesses have played an important role in Bulgaria’s economic development, contributing to employment, manufacturing and the growth of several key sectors.

As Vice Chairman of HBCB, Mr. Satslis actively contributes to the Council’s efforts to strengthen Greek-Bulgarian business relations, encourage investment and support a more competitive business environment.

These topics are closely connected to HBCB’s ongoing dialogue with public institutions and its commitment to representing the interests of the business community.

SIM Expo 2026 – Connecting Business with Investment Opportunities

Organised by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), its Investment Council and the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), in partnership with Sofia Municipality, SIM Expo 2026 will focus on access to financing, European funding programmes, investment opportunities and business development.

The conference will also offer valuable opportunities for networking, sharing experience and building new business partnerships.

HBCB warmly invites its members and partners to attend the conference, support Mr. Satslis and join this important discussion on the future of investment in Bulgaria.
