As many as 80.9% of top executives in Bulgaria expect their businesses to grow in 2017 and 81% plan to recruit new employees, the local unit of executive search firm Stanton Chase International said on Thursday.
Most of the respondents (74.8%) said their businesses grew in 2016 and neither Brexit nor the migration wave have had any significant impact on their operations, the agency said in a recent survey it conducted among 185 senior executive managers.
The Bulgarian managers' main concerns were related to the political uncertainty and the resignation of the country's minority coalition government in November, which will negatively affect the Bulgarian economy according to 65.4% of those polled.
Outsourcing/BPO and telecommunications sectors are considered to have had the biggest growth in Bulgaria in 2016, Stanton Chase said.
"Technology innovations, digital marketing and IT security are the new areas of expertise that companies strongly need today. That puts key specialists and experts with specific functions on the top of the hiring list in 2017," it added.
Half of the respondents consider as most important to discover talents, retain employees and sustain stable cash flow. Building a positive employer branding ranks fourth on their list. Nearly one-third of the respondents also consider business restructuring to be a necessary step for further growth.
