At an official ceremony late last evening, Mrs Petia Dimitrova, CEO and Chairperson of the Management Board of Postbank, received the special Banker of the Year 2019 award for winning the trust of the bank’s shareholders, and her proven team management skills. The Vice-Chair of GERB parliamentary-represented group and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Religion and Human Rights Krassimir Velchev handed her the award, which is yet another accolade for Mrs Dimitrova after she won the same award in 2012 and 2015, and in 2017 for her successful management and preserved clients’ trust.
“2019 was very difficult for us, but was also one of the most successful years. We managed to merge with Piraeus Bank for just four months, setting a record on the market, for which I’m grateful to my colleagues. This is a big achievement for us. I’d like to thank the organizers of this wonderful event. I hope you will hold it again after another 25 years and we will be here to share our success”, Ms Petia Dimitrova commented.
“Thanks to her energy, hard work and charisma, one woman not only has overcome all difficulties, but has done it at the speed of a champion. The institution, consolidated this year, climbed to Top 5 of the biggest banks in Bulgaria and increased its profit to BGN 104 million as at end-September. At the same time, it continued growing, keeping up with the times, and investing serious resources in digitalization,” the organizers of the event said at the official ceremony.
The Banker of the Year awards have been held for the 26th time. The accolades are given to the most successful bank managers in the country, who have shown impressive managerial skills during the respective year, and the institutions they manage posted higher financial results in terms of all five indicators. The event is organized by Banker newspaper and gathers Bulgaria’s financial elite.
