Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company said that it has decided to sign a 41.9 million levs ($25.3 million/21.4 million euro) contract for the purchase of 30 electric buses and 10 charging stations with a tie-up between local Chariot Motors and China’s Higer Bus Company.
The Chariot Motors – Higer Bus Company tie-up received a maximum score of 100 points in the tender for awarding the contract, documents published by Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company last month show.
Solaris Bus and Coach was ranked second, as it offered to deliver the buses and charging stations for 46 million levs.
Four other participants in the tender were discquqlified by the contracting authority.
According to registry agency data, Chariot Motors and Higer Bus Company own equal stakes in the tie-up.
