Bulgaria ended 2020 with a registered unemployment rate of 6.7%, 0.8 percentage points higher than the end of 2019, the country’s employment agency said on Friday.
The unemployment rate at the end of December remained unchanged compared to the end of November, the agency said in a statement.
A total of 12,253 unemployed people found a job in December, while 32,607 unemployed people registered with labour offices in the country.
At the end of 2020, there were 220,292 registered unemployed people. This represents an increase by 25,577 people compared to the end of 2019 and by 1,452 people compared to the end of November 2020.
There were 7,572 registered job vacancies at labour offices in December, 40% of which in the manufacturing sector.
