For three days – 18, 19 and 20 May over 40 delegates from 20 different countries, spanning the continents of Europe, Asia, and the Americas came to Bulgaria.

The event began with a cocktail at the offices of Gugushev & Partners that marked the launch of a new initiative – Lexwork Junior – which aims to prepare younger lawyers for their future roles as established experts and leaders.

The cocktail also marked the launch of a new initiative – Lexwork Junior – which aims to prepare younger lawyers for their future roles as established experts and leaders.

On the 19th may, at Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia, the day was opened by the President of Lexwork International – Derek McCulloch, followed by a welcome from Atty. Victor Gugushev, Senior Partner at Gugushev & Partners Law Office.

On the same day, guest speakers were invited to hold talks on new trends that could change the legal profession. Desislava Gospodinova, Founding Partner and CEO of Alfa Star Ventures, kicked off the lectures by explaining the long road that led to the creation of Bulgaria’s first Evergreen EuVECA fund manager, bearing the name of the company she represents. She also described the perspective of VC companies on venture capital legislation in the region and how management chooses the right legal partner for projects that change the business climate.

Vladimir Slavov, Open-Source Officer at Bosch Digital, continued to hold the delegates’ interest by presenting how legal work can be affected by the emergence and popularization of artificial intelligence – from intellectual property issues of the large language model itself, through the various platforms that provide such solutions, to the risks that may emerge for the profession.

Afterwards, Vyara Savova, Public Policy & Communication Expert at the European Crypto Initiative, gave a lecture on the regulation of various new crypto spaces.  Her multi-layered experience with cryptocurrencies allowed her to answer questions about the underlying structure of different cryptocurrencies, so-called smart contracts and what the next changes we could expect from the European institutions would be.

During the three-day event, Gugushev & Partners Law Office was able to arrange several culinary experiences and a cultural tour of Sofia that allowed visitors to immerse themselves in Bulgarian culture.

The team of Gugushev & Partners Law Office would like to express our sincere gratitude to Lexwork International for being chosen to host such an event!
