The hotel’s luxurious spa centre Kempinski The Spa has been awarded once again as “Bulgaria’s Best Hotel Spa” by World Spa Awards 2019. This year’s red-carpet ceremony took place in Armani Hotel Dubai in United Arab Emirates on 21 October. Winners announced at the ceremony included Best Hotel Spa, Best Destination Spa, Best Spa Design, Best Cruise Spa, Best Detox Programme, Best Eco Spa and Best Medical Spa. The votes were cast online during a 16-week voting period on the organisation’s official website. Spa industry senior executives, high-end travellers, tour operators, media and spa consumers from around the world were eligible to vote for the brands they considered to have performed at an exceptional level over the last 12 months. The full list with the winners can be found at https://worldspaawards.com/winners/2019.

The award-winning Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko features one of the biggest and best-equipped spa centres in the region. It was fully renovated in spring 2018. The new-generation Kempinski The Spa is known for its signature treatments, authentic Thai massages and state-of-the-art facilities. Extending over 1,200 sq m, the centre features 13 treatment rooms, a tailor-made aroma steam bath, four different types of saunas, a self-heating wellness bench laconium, two experience showers for heat-cold contrast, an energising snow room, a specially organised deep digital detox area, an ice fountain, a contemporary 24-hour gym, one indoor and two outdoor swimming pools, an outdoor children’s pool and one outdoor and indoor Jacuzzis. The guests of the spa centre can enjoy the world-renowned and preferred by the Brazilian football legend Neymar – NORMATEC technology – a legs recovery system for use after exercise to enhance blood flow and speed up recovery. The modern spa centre also features BEMER body recovery technology, the favourite of the Austrian ski racer and five-time World Cup champion Marc Girardelli. The Bemer device delivers specific pulsed electromagnetic therapy to increase blood vessel circulation and is ideal for virtually anyone, from the active athlete to teenage children. Kempinski The Spa is also famous for its exclusive cosmetic lines St. Barth, with entirely natural ingredients from the famous Caribbean island of St. Barths, and Arbū, with 97% organic Bulgarian rose oil. The only Kempinski The Spa in Bulgaria is managed by the fastest-growing global spa company, Resense Spa S.A., together with around 50 other Kempinski The Spas around the world.

On the occasion of the award, General Manager Christian Ruge commented, “It is a great honour for us to be voted as ‘Bulgaria’s Best Hotel Spa’ for the fourth time. This is the second world award we have won so far this year. At the beginning of June, the hotel was recognised as ‘Bulgaria’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel 2019’ by World Travel Awards. All these accolades are very important and valuable for us as they are awarded by our partners and guests, and we will do our best to keep exceeding their expectations.”

The World Spa Awards brought success to several Kempinski spa centres. The Merchant of Venice SPA at San Clemente Palace Kempinski Italy won the “Europe’s Best Hotel Spa 2019” award, as well as the “Italy’s Best Hotel Spa 2019” award. Cinq Mondes Spa at Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai is Middle East’s Best Day Spa 2019. The title of “Jordan’s Best Hotel Spa 2019” was claimed by The Ishtar Spa by Resense at Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea, and the “Cuba’s Best Hotel Spa 2019” by Spa Albear by Resense at Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana.
