Greece is taking part in the exploratory talks with Turkey guided by and on the basis of international law and the Law of the Sea, ruling New Democracy (ND) representative Giorgos Koumoutsakos said on Monday, after his meeting with Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, which concluded the series briefings of the parliamentary parties on issues of foreign policy.
Koumoutsakos thanked the foreign minister for his detailed briefing on the course of Greek-Turkish relations ahead of the resumption of the 61st round of exploratory talks.
“Greece is participating in this process… because we believe that this is the only way to achieve stability and peace in our region,” underlined Koumoutsakos.
“We want to hope that Turkey will act accordingly and will support this process without provocations, tensions and statements that would undermine the calm environment that is essential to this process,” he added.
