Flag carrier Turkish Airlines said it will resume its service to and from the Bulgarian capital Sofia, starting July 1, after a suspension of over two months due to restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease. During the month of July, Turkish Airlines will operate five flights per week from Sofia, the company said in a press release on Friday. In March, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered the suspension of all international flights to and from the country in an effort to contain the coronavirus outbreak. Turkish Airlines restarted international flights from Istanbul on June 10, while domestic flights have been gradually returning since June 1.
