Bulgaria’s electricity production fell by an annual 8.32% to 13,026 GWh in the January 1 – April 12 period of 2020, according to data from the country’s Electricity System Operator (ESO). Electricity exports dropped 15.86% to 2,284 GWh in the period under review, while imports soared 78.97% to 1,468 GWh, data from ESO’s weekly bulletin showed. Domestic power consumption fell 0.85% to 12,211 GWh.The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system grew 22.18% year-on-year to 448 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system rose 14.60% to 596 GWh.
