“No one will be allowed to violate the law in our country. There will be sanctions against those who prevent migrants from entering the new facility,”Civil Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis warned on Sunday from Mytilene.

He indirectly confirmed information that the Greek Police had identified a group of Afghans, mainly delinquent migrants, who are preventing refugees and migrants from going to the new structure, believing that this will enable them to leave Lesvos.

Chrysochoidis called on asylum seekers to go to the new structure, be tested for the coronavirus and be identified.

As he said “Greece is a state governed by the rule of law and security is a primary concern both for the residents and for the thousands of migrants who are on the road and especially the children with their parents.”
