GLOBUL is looking for two active young people interested in social challenges and digital technology to represent Bulgaria in the international Telenor Youth Summit 2014 which will be held in Oslo in December.
The contest is open to all Bulgarian students or graduates between 18 and 25 years old who are fluent in both written and spoken English. Applicants need to write an essay explaining how they see digital technologies play a role in bringing social change and opportunities for people, and email it together with their CV to youthsummit@globul.bg by September 30, 2014. In their essays, participants may either present a specific idea for a solution or highlight a social issue where digital communications can have a positive impact.
The ten finalists will be selected on October 10. They will have to record a short video explaining their idea and then present it live or via videoconference in front of a jury consisting of experts from GLOBUL, Junior Achievement Bulgaria and denkstatt consultancy company. The names of the two winners who will participate in Telenor Youth Summit 2014 will be announced in the beginning of November.
Telenor Youth Summit 2014 will be held between December 9 and 11 in Oslo and GLOBUL will cover the all travel, food and accommodation expenses of the winners in its contest. At the event, the two Bulgarians will have the chance to meet another 26 socially engaged young people from all over the world, to discuss their ideas for positive change in the society and to learn from international experts and change makers. In addition, participants in the youth summit will also watch live the Nobel Peace Prize event and will be invited to the Nobel Peace Prize Concert which is usually attended by many celebrities.
Telenor Youth Summit is held for the second time as a global initiative for exchanging opinions on the way mobile communications technologies can encourage growth and positive change the society. It is organized in collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center, one of Telenor’s strategic sponsorships.
