Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will hold an e-meeting on Monday at 09:30 in the morning with Health Minister Vassils Kikilias and Deputy Minister Vassilis Kontozamanis, Deputy Minister for Civil Protection & Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias and infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodras, to discuss the latest increase in coronavirus cases.
The e-meeting will be held in the context of the government’s ongoing assessment of unfolding epidemiological data, and is the first of a series of video conferences that are going to be held throughout August three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, as has been announced by the Greek Premier himself.
Mitsotakis is expected to send out a firm message on the need for diligent observance of preventive measures against the novel coronavirus and the potential stepping-up of currently effective precautionary protocols.
The government has repeatedly said that the lenient nature of current protective measures is proving dangerous to public health, and is determined to take whatever measures are needed to limit the further spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the community, government sources said on Sunday.
