Postbank is among the winners of the Forbes Business Awards competition, which was organized for sixth consecutive year by Forbes Magazine. At the official ceremony, the financial institution received the special Deal of the Year award for the successful finalization of the acquisition of Alpha Bank-Bulgaria Branch's operations. The award was personally presented to Mrs. Petia Dimitrova – CEO and Chairperson of the Management Board of Postbank, by Forbes Bulgaria's Editor-in-Chief Yordan Mateev.
"The acquisition of Alpha Bank Bulgaria's operations became indeed the deal of 2016 because it is also a key event for the entire banking market. This is the first landmark deal in the consolidation process that has already started, which brought even greater stability and security to our banking system, because as a bigger bank we have more opportunities to grow and provide support for the Bulgarian entrepreneurs' business endeavors. More importantly, we can proudly say that we were able to finalize the operational merger of the two banks in a record short time, and all options and benefits are now available to our customers," Mrs. Petia Dimitrova said on receiving the award.
Traditionally, at the beginning of each year, Forbes Magazine presents the Business „Oscars“ for achievements in the previous year. The awards are aimed at encouraging good business practices and the entrepreneurial spirit of the most innovative, persevering and devoted companies that work for the good of our society and contribute to the development of our economy. Eighty-six companies competed in eight categories – Customer Policy, Business Development, Human Resources Development, Product Quality, Service Quality, Employee of the Year, Community Service Award, and Best Start-Up, and an independent jury chose the winners in each category out of a total of 165 nominations. The companies that submitted nominations are both major and established businesses and start-ups. The largest number of nominations was submitted in the Business Development category.
The ceremony was attended by the finalists in the competition, guests and partners of Forbes Magazine, and the members of the expert jury, which was once again composed of prominent representatives of the Bulgarian business elite.
